Specially designed monitors that meet the requirements of a very special production environment. This is what Lundbeck wanted, and in cooperation with Blue Line, the perfect result was obtained. “I am truly impressed,” says Jens Ole Petersen, Department Manager in the pharmaceutical company.
Monitors for use in production may sound like off-the-shelf products. But when they are located at the Danish-based, international pharmaceutical company, Lundbeck A/S, the requirements are quite special.
“We have rooms where selected employees are sluiced in, dressed in working clothes that most of all resemble space suits. So, the requirements for the environment and the number of particles in the air are very strict. Therefore, the equipment must be very special,” says Jens Ole Petersen, Department Manager of the Engineering Department at Lundbeck in Valby, Denmark.
When stainless steel corrodes
The pharmaceutical company was looking for rugged keyboards and monitors that withstand harsh cleaning agents and are resistant to wiping off with extremely pure water, which can even make ordinary stainless steel corrode.They found this at Blue Line.
“There are now monitors and keyboards in the different production rooms, and the server is located far from them. The operators use the system for a kind of production report, and this provides an electronic menu for the process from start to finish, which they are to follow,” says Jens Ole Petersen. Previously, the operators wrote the information manually in log books. This takes time and presents a risk of errors.
Errors are discovered immediately
“Deviations in production are now found immediately, so we have increased safety and efficiency,” says the department manager, who is pleased with the cooperation with Blue Line:
